Dear Friends,
Eurosummit 98 will be held in Cardiff (Wales) between the 14th and 16th of June. This yearly meeting of European leaders will attract the national and international press in large numbers. This is a golden opportunity for you and similar social and environmental justice groups to voice your ideas for a better Europe.
The last alternative Eurosummit in Amsterdam attracted up to 250,000 people from across Europe and included a plethora of environmental, social justice and animal rights activists. The workshops and conferences, demonstrations and actions generated such media interest that the press hired motor bikes to follow and report demonstrations!
Reclaim Europe! is a new organisation set up to ensure good communication between all participating groups who will be attending Euro Summit 98, and to coordinate events and actions. It will also do its best to facilitate access from activists coming from Europe, with travel and free/cheap accomodation information.
Reclaim Europe! is not a pressure group. It will not be holding demonstrations or taking part in the demonstrations / actions organised by others at the Euro Summit '98. It exists to empower others and to make everyone's lives a bit less hectic!
