Political Organizer
New Party
The New Party is a progressive political party active in twelve states.  To
build progressive political power, the New Party runs grassroots campaigns
to elect progressive candidates and fights for living wage jobs, better
schools, and safer streets.  Focusing on issues of economic justice,
democratic political reform, and investment in education and children, the
New Party has won 150 of its 230 races for school board, city council,
county board, and state legislature seats.
The New Party is hiring full-time organizers to help build political power
in low-and-moderate income, working-class, and minority communities.
Organizers will build city-wide or regional New Party organizations by
recruiting, training, and mobilizing volunteer membership to participate in
electoral and issue campaigns; develop volunteer leadership; and plan and
organize political campaigns in their areas. 
Job responsibilities include:
7 Recruiting new members and building an active volunteer base through
personal visits and house parties.
7 Working with community and labor groups to involve their membership in the
New Party's campaigns.
7 Directing doorknocking drives, mailings, phone banks, and fund-raisers on
behalf of the New Party's candidates and issue campaigns
7 Planning and implementing campaign strategies with chapter leadership.
7 Maintaining administrative systems and records on organizing and campaign
activities
7 Reporting regularly to the Lead Organizer and the National Field Staff. 
Salary:  Dependent upon experience.  Health benefits are provided.

goals; willingness to learn new skills and ideas; willingness to be
self-motivated and self-critical; willingness to work hard.
