Companies' Welfare Hiring Status
By The Associated Press
Tuesday, May 26, 1998; 1:15 a.m. EDT
Large U.S. companies that have programs to hire welfare
recipients, are planning programs or have no plans for
such a program. The location of the company's
headquarters is shown after each name.
The list includes the 100 largest companies, measured by
1997 revenue, plus the 50 largest employers, as
determined by Fortune magazine's annual survey. Due to
overlap in these two groups, there are a total of 111
companies.
